Treatment of oedema & Use of Diclofenac




Oedema : It means excessive accumulation of fluid in the interstitial free space and cavity.

Types: Two types of oedema this area. Pittingb. Non pitting:

a.     Lymphatic obstruction – filariasis
b.    Deep vein thrombosis
c.     Myxodema

According to extension:

a.     Localize oedema: non pitting
b.    Generalize oedema (anasarca)

Diagnosis a case of oedema:
                                                   
1.Cardiac causes                                                   
2.Hepatic causes                                                 
 3.Renal causes                                                  

It can occur as a result of the following conditions or treatments:chronic lung disease.thyroid disease.liver disease.medication, such as corticosteroids or medicine for high blood pressure (hypertension)pregnancy.malnutrition.kidney disease.heart failure.

Diclofenac;

It is a NASID grup of analgesics and chemically acetic acid derivative.
Indication

a. Inflamation.

b.Rheumatoid arthritis.

c.Osteoarthritis.

d. acute musclulatal inury.

e. post operative pain managemant.

f. gynoclogical:

g.dysmenarrhoea.

Condraindication:

1.       Pepticulcer.

2.       Patient with bleeding disorder.

3.       Hepatic renal disorder.

4.       Asthma.

5.       Gout.

6.       Hipersensitivity.

7.       Pregnancy.
